National Stroke Association
"Mission
National Stroke Association’s mission is to reduce the incidence and impact of stroke by developing compelling education and programs focused on prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and support for all impacted by stroke.
History
National Stroke Association was formed in 1984 to fill a void as the only national nonprofit healthcare organization focusing 100 percent of its resources and attention on stroke. In its brief history, National Stroke Association has become a leading national resource on stroke and the driving force behind efforts to improve stroke prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. Based in Englewood, Colorado, National Stroke Association sustains itself through individual donations, memberships and grants."
