The North Carolina Public Transportation Association, Inc. (NCPTA), is a private, non-profit organization, incorporated on January 18, 1983, with a mission to promote public transportation throughout the state.

It is the only transportation association in NC that represents public transportation providers in all 100 counties of the State. NCPTA’s members include a diverse group, ranging from large urban systems to the smallest of rural systems that deliver services that range from fixed route systems, light rail, community transportation and human service operations.

NCPTA boasts a broad range of affiliate members that include: bus and van manufacturers, transit industry product suppliers, educational entities, private companies, local and state elected officials and agencies, and individuals interested in public transportation.
Through its membership, NCPTA works toward one goal: increased mobility options for North Carolinians.
