Oregon Adaptive Sports
Twenty years ago, some passionate local members of the ski community, came together to provide snow opportunities to members of the community with disabilities. Today, Oregon Adaptive Sports (OAS) is the premiere adaptive sports organization in the Pacific Northwest providing a range of year-round programs.
Oregon Adaptive Sports offers year-round outdoor recreation programs for individuals with disabilities. Our programs are designed to accommodate a wide range of populations with different skill levels from never-evers to elite athletes.
WINTER: The foundation of our program, OAS has been providing adaptive ski lessons for people with disabilities since 1996. Currently, OAS offers adaptive skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor and Hoodoo ski resorts. OAS is proud to house cutting edge adaptive ski equipment to accommodate a wide range of abilities. Staff and volunteers are trained and often certified to work within several disciplines of adaptive skiing and snowboarding. OAS also supports adaptive Nordic (cross country) skiing. SUMMER: OAS offers a variety of summer programs at a variety of locations throughout Central Oregon. Programs are offered both on recurring schedules and available for private bookings. Most programs can accommodate a wide-range of ages and abilities, though some may or may not be suitable for certain individuals. Currently OAS offers adaptive paddling, golf, cycling, and hiking programs.
