PEDIATRIC DEVELOPMENT CENTER – Portland MAINE
Pediatric Development Center provides evaluation and treatment services for children with known and suspected learning and/or developmental problems. Our goal is to help children reach their maximum potential in their home and academic environments. The children we serve range in age from birth to eighteen years of age, and many demonstrate motor planning and motor development problems, hyperactivity, behavior and attention difficulties, as well as diagnoses of cerebral palsy, developmental delay, autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, learning disability, prematurity, and sensory integration disorder.
The Pediatric Development Center now implements the use of Therapeutic Listening! This program uses specifically modulated music input to target the vestibular and auditory systems for improved internal organization.
We offer skilled information, assistance and a lending library to help you and your child get the most out of this exciting therapeutic tool.
Special Services and Programs Include:
- Summer Camp: During the summer months we often offer a sensory camp, Bike riding, Friend’s Social Group, Handwriting, and other programs necessary to meet the specific needs of children.
