Plano Texas Adaptive Recreation
Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Special Needs
The Plano Parks and Recreation Adapted Recreation programs offer recreational opportunities for individuals with special needs from 12 months to over 60 years of age. Programs are offered year round and provide a variety of activities such as; fitness, crafts and fine arts, education, outings and a variety of other programs that meet the needs of children/teens and adults with disabilities.
Most classes are held at Liberty Recreation Center, 2601 Glencliff Drive. See our Leisure Catalog for location, dates and times.
Fun Activities for Kids
Plano Adapted Recreation offers great classes for younger kids to stay active and socialize with others.
Monthly Classes Dance Club – A fun night of dancing for ages 15 and up. The dance is held monthly at the Plano Senior Center, 401 W. 16th Street, 6:30-9:30 p.m
Parents and Guardians Kids Night Out – Monthly respite program for children with disabilities from 1-10 years of age and their siblings held at Liberty Recreation Center, 2601 Glencliff Drive. It is usually held the second Friday of each month, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Teens Night Out – Teens Night Out is a social/recreational program for teens ages 12-15 with learning or developmental disabilities. This is an opportunity for teens to socialize with their peers outside of school. They will be engaged in activities such as line dancing, playing games, and arts and crafts.
