Programs for Children and Youth who are Deaf-Blind
Deaf-Blindness is a condition of a combined vision and hearing loss, requiring specific instructional strategies that address the presence of both sensory impairments. The child could have varying degrees of hearing and vision loss. It is the combination of this loss that has a profound impact on the child will interact and learn. Through PaTTAN, The Pennsylvania Deaf-Blind Initiative offers a variety of training, technical assistance, and resources to assist educators and families in the areas of assessment, instruction, and family involvement activities.
