Qualistar Colorado
Mission:
Advancing Quality Early Childhood Education Across Colorado
Background:
Qualistar Colorado, formerly Qualistar Early Learning, was formed in 2004 through the merger of two organizations: Educare Colorado (Educare) and the Colorado Office of Resource and Referral Agencies (CORRA). The merger was designed to advance the school readiness of Colorado’s children by measuring and improving quality early childhood education (ECE) and to be the resource connecting parents to quality programs. The new organization combined Educare’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) and CORRA’s statewide infrastructure of child care resource and referral agencies (CCR&R). Qualistar serves all of Colorado’s 64 counties and manages Colorado’s network of 17 CCR&R agencies.
Today, Qualistar partners with parents through a statewide network of local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies and our interactive website to help them find quality child care that best meets their child’s needs. Through our 4-Star Qualistar Rating™ and accompanying quality improvement tools and resources, we partner with early childhood education centers and family child care home settings to improve the quality of care they provide in order to ensure all children have quality early learning experiences.
