RIte Care – Rhode Island CHIP Program
RIte Care is Rhode Island’s Medicaid managed care program for families on the RI Works Program and eligible uninsured pregnant women, children, and parents. Members enroll in a participating health plan: UnitedHealthcare of New England or Neighborhood Health Plan of RI. Eligibility is based on income and family size: Pregnant women (family's income less than 250 percent of the Federal Poverty Level- FPL); Children up to age 19 (family's income less than 250 percent of the FPL); Parents with children under age 18 (family's income less than 175 percent of the FPL). Members whose family’s income is less than 150 percent of the FPL do not pay a monthly premium. Members whose family’s income is more than 150 percent of the FPL pay a monthly premium of either $61, $77 or $92 per month. Complete an application and send it by mail to the local DHS office that serves your town or city. Please include the necessary copies of documents that are requested. TTY: (401) 462- 3363
