Shooting Star Ranch Therapeutic Riding Program provides an equine assisted therapy program designed to benefit children and adults with special needs. Individuals experience physical, psychological and educational benefits when astride a horse. Riding on a horse gently and rhythmically moves the rider’s trunk and pelvis in a manner similar to that of the human walk, with resulting improvement in coordination, balance, flexibility, strength and control. Therapeutic Riding has been utilized by centers throughout the United States for over twenty years. It is a proven method to exercise, mobilize, and motivate the mind and body. It emphasizes the rider’s abilities, not disabilities. There are currently over 750 NARHA (North American Riding Handicapped Association) across the country and we are proud to be one of those centers. Our facility offers private or group lesson, for all disciplines of riding. We also provide camps throughout the summer session. If you know someone who could benefit from the joys and rewards of a therapeutic horseback riding program, don’t wait, call today. Visitors and Volunteers are always welcomed. Come ride with us at Shooting Star where we teach riding but our goal is therapy, and we Dare to Dream with all our students.
