Shreveport contracts with Shreveport Transit Management, Inc. for the operation of the Shreveport Area Transportation System (SPORTRAN).
Sportran is the Transit System for Shreveport and Bossier City.  SporTrans's 17 routes reach the vast majority of Shreveport-Bossier's shopping, educational and medical facilities and all buses are lift-equipped for easy use by the disabled.  Forty-five of the buses providing fixed route service are ADA accessible. 
A demand response para transit service is also operated which is called the Lift Line.  An application must be made to SPORTRAN for this service. LiftLine service is for those disabled persons with a certified need
