The Parks and Recreation Department Special Needs Program is designed to offer athletic and social events for people with intellectual disabilities. Interested individuals can participate in athletic evens as part of Special Olympics. Athletes with special needs are welcome as well as typically developing volunteers who would like to participate as a "Unified partner". The suggested age is 6 and up. Parents should contact the department as to the suitability of the program for their child. Dances, parties, and "get-togethers" are organized throughout the year.
