Sight Connection
Our mission is to enhance the ability of people with vision loss to lead active, independent lives. Vision loss doesn’t mean losing independence. Since 1965 we have specialized in helping people with low vision and blindness develop skills and strategies designed to promote and enhance safety and independence despite vision loss. Our focus is on each individual and their particular needs, goals and capabilities. We offer a variety of services to help you work, travel, and live as independently as possible. We provide services in King, Snohomish and Skagit counties of Washington State. We also provide limited low vision clinic services in Kitsap County. Many services are provided in the home and we have low vision clinics in Seattle, Sedro-Wooley and Bremerton. Services we currently provide: adjustment to vision loss counseling; training in safe movement and travel; white cane training; training in independent living skills and home management; low vision clinic for enhancement of residual vision; assistive technology information and demonstration; vision loss information and referral; educational services including e-newsletter, classes & workshops. Our organization was founded in 1965 when three agencies serving people with vision loss merged to become Community Services for the Blind. Since that time we have worked hard to become the Northwest’s leading private vision rehabilitation agency specializing in helping people with vision loss stay active and independent. Our primary focus is on individuals with vision loss who are 55 or older. In 2011 we changed our name from Community Services for the Blind and Partially Sighted to SightConnection.
