Small Steps in Speech Foundation – Funding Assistance for Children with Speech / Language Disorders
This non-profit foundation was created in memory and in honor of Staff Sgt Marc J. Small who was killed in action in February of 2009 while serving his country in Afghanistan. The mission of Small Steps in Speech is to help children with speech and/or language disorders take the steps needed to be better communicators. This is achieved through grants and donations to service providers and qualifying charitable organizations.
Small Steps in Speech assists children with speech and language disorders by funding supplemental therapies and treatments for individuals as well as grants to charitable organizations who serve children with communicative disorders. Our goal is to give children the chance to better express themselves in the world in which we live.
Small Steps in Speech has provided more than 60 grants and over $120,000 to children across the country who have speech and language disorders. We are privileged to say that we have provided children the opportunity to receive speech and language therapy for months, and even a year, to help improve their communication.
Small Steps is now a member of the United Way Donor Choice program! Select 49531 and your donation will be designated to Small Steps in Speech! Thank you for helping to give the gift of speech to a child…one small step at a time.
