The SC School for the Deaf and the Blind is the state’s specialized school for students who are deaf or blind. The main campus is located in Spartanburg, but the school serves students statewide through its campus and outreach programs.

Governance
The work of the school is overseen by the school’s president and an all-volunteer board of commissioners appointed by the governor. The 11-member board includes representatives of:
SC’s Seven Congressional Districts
SC ‘s Blind Community
SC’s Deaf Community
SC’s Sensory Multidisabled Community
The State of SC at Large
