South County Hospital Healthcare System (SCHHS) is a full-service healthcare resource, providing southern Rhode Island with a comprehensive range of advanced inpatient, outpatient, and home health services. Accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC), SCHHS is made of up four components: South County Hospital, VNS Home Health Care, South County Quality Care, and South County Surgical Supply. At the center of the South County Hospital Healthcare System, South County Hospital is an independent, non-profit, 100-bed acute care hospital offering the latest advancements in technology and a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services. Our modern facilities include all private patient rooms for the comfort of our patients and their families. VNS Home Health Services offers a complete range of home health services, providing the services of visiting nurses, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to patients following their discharge from the hospital and to those whose health needs require them to be at home. South County Quality Care is a private duty resource for home care needs including skilled personal care, homemaking assistance, and companion services. Promoting wellness in the community is also a key component of our mission, and we believe the health of a community begins with education. Our goal is to provide you with accessible healthcare information, whether it is through the variety of programs and lectures we offer, this Web site, or the For the Health of Our Community column I am pleased to contribute each month to the Narragansett Times.
