Southeastern Guide Dogs
We are an internationally accredited guide and service dog school headquartered in Palmetto, Florida – the only one in the Southeastern US Southeastern Guide Dogs transforms lives by creating and nurturing extraordinary partnerships between people and dogs.
A nonprofit with a national reach, we train dogs of the highest pedigree for people who are blind and for veterans, providing our premier dogs and lifetime services at no cost, without government funds. Our guide dogs and service dogs provide freedom, confidence, courage, and hope for people who cannot see and veterans who have seen too much.
Visually Impaired
We match highly trained guide dogs with visually impaired individuals, providing the gift of an independent lifestyle. Students train on our Palmetto, Florida campus for 20 days, venturing from our secluded Freedom Walk out to city streets, shopping malls, and public transportation. Most leave here with heads held high and a wider smile. Our students receive all of our dogs and our services at no cost, thanks to our generous partners. And our new Student Center, opened in 2016, provides beautiful accommodations and a nurturing, caring environment.
