Sunrise Family Resource Center, Inc. is a non-profit parent/child center whose mission is "Strengthening Families." We do this by providing educational and support services to families living in Bennington County and surrounding areas. Over the years Sunrise has expanded, adding educational and support groups, family out-reach programs, community childcare support services, and a range of services to young parents. Opportunities, an on-site program modeled on Addison County’s successful Learning Together program, provides an alternative education and mentoring experience for teen parents wishing to complete their high school diploma. Sunrise staff work closely with families, other area agencies, schools and groups to provide comprehensive, flexible and individually responsive services. Services include: Parent Education; Support and special interest groups; Community Picnics; Children’s Integrated Services (CIS); Telephone and drop-in referral service; Pregnant and Parenting Teens resource and referral; Childcare resource and referral service (Bennington County Child Care Association); Services for Families with Young Children; Early Care and Education; Family Support (formerly Healthy Babies); Parent/Child Playgroups; Early Child and Family Mental Health (formerly CUPS); Family Support Specialist; Family Development; Reach Up; Job Club; Opportunities; Family Preservation; Family Advocacy Program; Parent Educator; Adolescent services; Youth Development; Community Development.
