SUNY DOWNSTATE MEDICAL CENTER – Department of Neurology
At Downstate, we provide comprehensive diagnosis and medical treatment of patients with neurological disorders. Neurological diseases can affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Our faculty includes more than 30 clinicians, with expertise in general neurology; and subspecialties including stroke, neuromuscular disease, neuropathy, epilepsy, memory loss and behavior disorders, sleep disorders, and movement disorders. We treat people from infancy to old age.
We care for patients through our two principal hospitals, University Hospital of Brooklyn and Kings County Hospital Center, as well as through our affiliates.
Medical care in recent years has focused on providing continuing care for chronic diseases in the outpatient setting.
The Department of Neurology offers care to adults and children in the outpatient offices at University Hospital of Brooklyn and Kings County Hospital Center as shown below. All visits require an appointment and, if required by your insurance company, a referral.
