At TMH, we have the most experienced pediatric staff in the region, including a child life specialist and clinical educator, so you can rest assured that your child receives the best specialized care. Since hospital visits can be scary for young patients, we are committed to reducing their anxiety with engaging distraction devices (ipads, TVs, and interactive games), reduced needle pain (buzzy, numbing cream, and freeze spray), and treatment tools specific to children (vein finder, treatment room, and playroom).

Tallahassee Memorial Hospital’s Kids Korner is a convenient 4-bed outpatient unit located on the pediatric floor that operates from seven in the morning until seven in the evening, Monday through Friday. It is the only pediatric outpatient center in the area which treats children; allowing families to stay close to home for pediatric outpatient surgeries and necessary medical treatments. Outpatient services provided by Kid’s Korner include: lab work, blood transfusions, endocrine studies, IV antibiotic administration, pre and post-operative care as well as recovery from procedures requiring sedation.

Pediatric Emergency Services- The Bixler Emergency Center includes a CT scanner, two digital X-ray units and a rapid turnaround lab housed in the center, so patients do not have to be transported to other parts of the hospital for services.

Pediatric Rehabilitation – Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare provides comprehensive, family-centered services to children from infancy through adolescence. Through a multidisciplinary approach, which may include occupational, physical and speech therapy, we strive to help children achieve their full potential in everyday life activities.
