The Tennessee Speech Hearing Association was founded in 1953 and became the Tennessee Association of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists in 1974.

TAASLP Mission Statement:

To meet the needs of persons with hearing, communication, and swallowing disorders and to enhance the professional development of audiologists and speech-language pathologists.
