The Arc of Alamance County
"Founded in 1971, the Arc of Alamance County provides services and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families so that they may live a happy and successful life!
We believe that all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have strengths, abilities and inherent value; are equal before the law; and must be treated with dignity and respect.
We also strive for better public understanding of the issues surrounding developmental disabilities and cooperate with other agencies in advocating for and promoting the welfare of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Promotes inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities in the school and community to the fullest extent possible
Provides gifts at Christmas for more than 80 individuals with developmental disabilities
Refers and gives information to families, professionals, and community members
Supports Camp Greenleaves and sponsors the annual Christmas party.
