The Arc of Craven County is a local family advocacy organization of and for people living in Craven, Jones and Pamlico Counties with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.  The Arc was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on April 30, 1963.  We are affiliated with The Arc of NC an advocacy and provider organization and The Arc of the USA a leading advocacy organization.  

We are committed to securing for all people challenged by intellectual and physical disabilities the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they live, learn, work, worship and play.  The Arc of Craven County is a volunteer organization that fosters community programs to promote the general welfare of citizens in Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties of North Carolina.  All citizens with disabilities, parents/ guardians, providers of service, community leaders, and friends may participate in furthering the work of The Arc of Craven County.

Our yearly events for 2012 are:  

Monthly Socials for all ages sponsored by Provider Organizations, Churches and Community Organizations.
Courts Plus Sponsored Racquetball Tournament  “Built The Arc” will be held January 13-15th.  
Our Annual Awards Banquet will be held on March 15, 2012 at The Knights of Columbus building.  
We are excited to offer our 3rd Annual Adult Day Camp for ages 22 and up, that will be held the week of May 21-25, 2012.   Pre-registration is required to participate.
We will have our 3rdnd Annual Self-Advocacy Training Day on October 3, 2012.
