"The Arc of Rappahannock was founded in 1953 to advocate for and support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in a time when there were no services available to them at all. Times have changed, but the need for support and advocacy continues. The Arc of Rappahannock is one chapter of many under The Arc of Virginia and a part of The Arc of the U.S., which is the largest organization in the United States supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our mission is to empower and support all people with mental and developmental disabilities so that they can improve their quality of life and enjoy their preferred lifestyles within their home communities. We seek to to enhance the lives of people in their home communities, so that they can have “A Life Like Yours” in an inclusive environment."
