The Learning Center for Families
Early Head Start serves low-income pregnant women and children ages birth to three. It is a comprehensive family development program that promotes the physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth of infants and toddlers while assisting their parents in achieving greater self sufficiency.
Families are chosen based on seriousness of need. Outreach is conducted throughout our service area to ensure that we can reach the families who traditionally slip through the cracks. Our home-based program combines weekly home visits with child-family play groups where families and children come together to share learning fun. We also meet with families two times per month in their homes to help them understand their child's developmental, health and nutritional needs.
