 NARHA Premier Accredited Center

Dorsey E. Levell Ministry Center

"Therapeutic Riding of the Ozarks (TRO) is a Premier Accredited Center through the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) and a member of the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA). TRO provides accredited equine therapy services including Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy. With sessions in the spring, summer and fall, and with the help of 200 trained volunteers, TRO offers therapy services year-round in collaboration with Missouri State University, Burrell Behavior Health (CSTAR), Springfield Greene County Parks and Recreation (Northview Center) and Boys & Girls Town of Missouri (BGTM). Established in 1995 as an agency of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks, Therapeutic Riding of the Ozarks (TRO) serves children and adults with disabilities by providing accredited equine-assisted therapy services including Therapeutic Riding & Hippotherapy. Equine-assisted therapies use the natural movement of a horse to strengthen muscles & increase body awareness, muscle coordination, communication and self-confidence. Important Announcement

There are some very big changes taking place at Therapeutic Riding of the Ozarks (TRO). TRO will be discontinued as an agency of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks (CCO) at the conclusion of the fall session. CCO Board of Directors made the decision based on the financial sustainability of CCO programs.

It saddens us to be sharing this news, but we are excited to tell you that we are working very hard to re-establish the program as its own organization or through an established organization within the community. For more information and to find out how you can help maintain these services for children and adults with disabilities living in the Ozarks, please contact TRO Director Kent Crumpley at 862-3586 ext. 231 or kcrumpley@ccozarks.org.
