The Peacock Cerebral Palsy & Movement Disorder Center at the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Northern California is a leader in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy (CP) and spasticity. Led by a team of nationally-recognized specialists and pioneers in rhizotomy treatment, their spasticity program is the largest and most comprehensive in the region.

The Center brings together developmental experts from different specialties to evaluate and treat your child, including:

  • Neurosurgery
  • Physical therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Orthotics
  • Prosthetics

Why Families Choose Peacock
Neurosurgical procedures like selective dorsal rhizotomy and Baclofen pump placement, combined with orthopedic surgery and intensive physical rehabilitation therapy, can improve the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy. Many children who receive treatment at their facilities become lifetime walkers, instead of being confined for life to a wheelchair.

The Peacock Cerebral Palsy & Movement Disorder Centeris committed to helping patients receive care close to home, which is why pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors from their Oakland and San Francisco programs see patients in school-based CCS clinics, also called Medical Therapy Units, throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
