" Both Act 60 and the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLBA) require states to have a system that holds public schools accountable for the academic achievement of their students. Act 60 also requires the commissioner to make biennial determinations of whether schools are meeting the standards defined in the School Quality Standards outlined in the State Board Manual of Rules and Practices (see links below). These standards address a school's physical, social and academic climate."
