We collaborate with our partners to enhance the health of individuals, families, and communities. We work to prevent disease and promote a healthy start, healthy choices, and accesses to services. We are strategic, innovative, and committed to healthier people in Washington. To create a culture of excellence and integrity, we are committed to: accountability, efficiency, and accessibility; collaborative relationships among staff, partners, and local communities; decision-making based on data and technical knowledge; diversity and its benefits; encourage and support for professional development and growth; open communication; respect for customers, coworkers, partners, and the expertise in communities. The Prevention and Community Health division of the Washington State Department of Health primarily focuses on programs that promote prevention and better health for families, individuals and communities and provides accurate health information. Prevention and Community Health is divided into four offices: the Office of the Assistant Secretary, the Office of Healthy Communities, the Office of Immunization and Child Profile, and the Office of Nutrition Services.
