Western Maine Transportation Services (WMTS) – MAINE
Western Maine Transportation Services is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public transportation corporation established by statute in 1976.
Locations Served: Farmington and Rumford area to Lewiston, Norway – S. Paris |
WMTS serves Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford Counties with public, wheelchair-accessible, “green” paratransit bus service in and around the more populated regions of its service area.
The WMTS Community Rides program in Oxford and Franklin Counties, Livermore and Livermore Falls, are funded by the United Way of Oxford County and United Way of the Tri-Valley Area.
The ElderRides program for transportation to medical appointments is funded by Seniors Plus throughout the three counties. WMTS also administers Maine DHHS Friends & Family Rides and Volunteer Rides programs. These provide cost-free transportation to MaineCare-covered medical appointments throughout the three counties
In addition to providing paratransit bus service and DHHS-funded transportation, WMTS operates the Lewiston/Auburn citylink bus service for the Lewiston/Auburn Transit Committee.
Western Maine Transportation Services, in cooperation the towns, local condominium associations and businesses, the Maine Department of Transportation, and the Federal Transit Administration also operates the Bethel/Sunday River Mountain Explorer and Sugarloaf Explorer seasonal bus services for the State of Maine
