WTA's mission is to enhance our community by: delivering safe, reliable, efficient and friendly service; offering environmentally sound transportation choices; providing leadership in creating innovative transportation solutions; partnering with our community to improve transportation systems. Specialized Transportation provides curb-to-curb transportation to people who are unable to ride fixed route buses due to a mental or physical disability. Everyone who rides Specialized Transportation must first apply for eligibility. Eligibility requirements have been established by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). To apply for eligibility, call (360) 733-1144 or click here to send us an email. Specialized Transportation trips must be requested in advance. Requests can be made until 5 pm the day before you ride, and up to 7 days in advance. Subscription service is also available for repeat trips. The Specialized Transportation service area mirrors our fixed route service area; it is offered wherever we offer fixed route service. Click here to see a map of the service area. Specialized Transportation hours of service also mirror fixed route hours of service. For hours of service in your area, call (360) 733-1144. Specialized Transportation is curb-to-curb. If you need door-to-door service–assistance from the driver between your door and the bus and the bus and your destination–please make this request when calling in your trip reservation.
